Mooen Ali smashes 120 as England score 284/4 on Day 1

Chennai, Dec 16 (IBNS): England on Friday posted 284 runs for the loss of four wickets in the first day of the fifth Test against India here.

Moeen Ali top scored for England with his 120 runs knock.

He smashed 12 boundaries in the innings.

Joe Root (88) and Jonny Bairstow (49) gave him support at the other end of the crease.

Ravindra Jadeja shined with the ball for India as he picked up three wickets.

England skipper Alastair Cook (10) became the first English batsman to scre 11,000 Test runs.

India have already won the series 3-0.
