New Delhi, July 28 (IBNS): Russian Tennis queen Maria Sharapova will be seen playing her shots on the court as she has been given a wild card entry into the Cincinnati WTA tournament.

Maria's tennis career had received a major jolt when after she faced doping suspension for 15 months.

Belarusian star Victoria Azarenka has also been given a wild card entry to the tournament.

The tournament assumes significance as it is seen as a warm-up to the crucial US Open.

“The addition of these players add to our already strong player field,”  Tournament Director Andre Silva was quoted as saying by the official website.

Silva said: “We anticipate the WTA’s No. 1 ranking to be on the line during the Western & Southern Open, and adding players of this caliber will make the battle for the top spot even more compelling.”
