Wuhan/Xinhua/UNI: Chinese Super League (CSL) side Wuhan Zall confirmed on Saturday the appointment of Jose Gonzalez as the new head coach, replacing Li Tie who was appointed head coach of China's national team.

Born in 1966, the Spaniard started his coaching career as the head coach of Spanish side Cadiz in 2001. He served as assistant coach for compatriot Gregorio Manzano at CSL club Beijing Guoan from 2014 to 2016. He took over as head coach in November 2016 and parted ways with Guoan in June 2017.

"Jose's coaching ability meets Zall's goals. He is an experienced football coach with Spanish football style and familiar with the CSL," the club said in the statement said.
Newly-promoted Zall had an excellent season, finishing sixth in the 2019 CSL under Li's tutelage.

According to the club, Gonzalez will arrive in a few days to join the squad.
