IPL 2018: Michael Hussey appointed as batting coach of Chennai Super Kings

Chennai, Jan 6 (IBNS): Former Australian cricketer Michael Hussey has been appointed as the batting coach of Chennai Super Kings in Indian Premier League (IPL) as the tournament is heading towards its eleventh edition in 2018.

Hussey played for CSK in seven out of eight seasons in the first decade of IPL.

Reacting to his appointment, Hussey said: " I am really excited about returning to the Chennai Super Kings in a coaching capacity and working with the players to help them get the best out of themselves and also help to bring success to this great franchise."

"I have so many great memories as a player and have made many wonderful friends in Chennai and now I am excited about giving back to the franchise in trying to help the next generation of CSK players," he added.

Hussey is the third highest run scorer for CSK in IPL after Suresh Raina and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

After two years of ban for match fixing, CSK is making a return to the tournament in 2018.
