Sydney, May 8 (IBNS): Injured Australia fast bowler Jhye Richardson will miss the World Cup.

Cricket Australia announced today that Richardson had been withdrawn from their 15-man squad for the gala cricket event.

England is hosting the World Cup this year that will begin from May 30.

The Australian cricketer's place would be filled by seamer Kane Richardson.

"This is obviously very disappointing news for the team and for Jhye, who has been exceptional throughout his rehabilitation," team physiotherapist David Beakley was quoted as saying by Cricket Australia.
