Indian athlete Dutee Chand creates new national record in 100m

Ranchi, Oct 11 (UNI) The second day of the senior athletics championships belonged to star athlete Dutee Chand who created a new national record in 100 meters and clinched gold medal here on Friday.

Dutee performed as per the expectations of the people who had turned up at large numbers to watch the star athlete in action.

In the semi-finals Dutee clocked an impressive time of 11.22 second to break her own national record. In Doha her best time stood at 11.26 second.

However, in the finals Dutee could not repeat her feat but was good enough to bag gold with a timing of 11.25 seconds. Archana from Tamil Nadu came second while Himashri Roy of the railways finished at third position.
