India, New Zealand face each other in high-voltage World Cup semi-final clash today

Manchester, July 9 (IBNS): It is just one match left for India to reach the final of the World Cup as Virat Kohli and his men will contest against New Zealand in the first semi-finals of the tournament here on Tuesday.

 

India defeated Sri Lanka in the last match of the World Cup to top the group stage of the tournament.

New Zealand, however, lost their last three matches in the tournament.

Ahead of the Wortld Cup, India had lost to New Zealand in the warm-up match.

However, the group stage match between India and New Zealand was not played due to heavy rains.

Both India and New Zealand have good records in Manchester in this tournament.

India had defeated arch-rivals Pakistan while New Zealand beat West Indies in a thriller which helped them find a position in the knock-out stage of the tournament.

India will depend on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's performance if they need to shine in the clash. The bowling department will once again be dominated by Jasprit Bumrah.

New Zealand's show in the last few matches have not been promosing.

Kane Williamson and his men will surely want to deliver in this match against India and reach the final of the World Cup for the consecuritve time.

New Zealand were defeated by Australia in the final of the tournament.

India, on the other hand, lost the semi-final clash against the same team in the 2015 edition of the tournament.
