India beat England by five runs T20 thriller

Nagpur, Jan 29 (IBNS): Jasprit Bumrah bowled brilliantly and Ashish Nehra picked up three wickets which helped India beat England by five runs in the second T20 match of the series here on Sunday.

England earlier won the toss and elected to field first, making India post 144 runs for the loss of eight wickets but later could only reach 139 runs for the loss of six wickets.

Joe Root and Ben Stokes remained the top scorers for the side with their 38 runs knock.

Bumrah bowled an economical spell and took to wickets in the innings.

Nehra showed he still shares the talent of picking up wickets at crucial junctures in the match.

Amit Mishra picked up a wicket.

Brilliant bowling by England bowlers helped restrict India at 144 for the loss of eight wickets in the second T20 International match of the series here on Sunday.

Lokesh Rahul remained the top scorer for the side with his 71 runs. He hit six boundaries and two sixes.

Virat Kohli, who opened the innings with Rahul, contributed 21 runs.

England bowlers maintained tight bowling length and used the conditoon of the pitch strongly to keep Indian batsmen under check.

Manish Pandey contributed 30 runs with his willow but took 26 balls to reach the score. Things became tough as he hammered only one six in his knock.

Captain's MS Dhoni's 7-ball 5 runs also did not help India in posting a massive total at the scorecard.

Chris Jordan picked up three wickets for England.

India and England leveled the series 1-1.
