I am ready: Virat Kohli

Pune, Jan 14 (IBNS): Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who will be leading India in the ODI and T20 series against England for the first time after MS Dhoni retired few days back, said he is ready to take the responsibility.

He said leading the national side will give him the oppurtunity to take Indian cricket forward.

"I am ready, not thinking about the burden at all. Leading India gives me more opportunities to take Indian Cricket forward," Kohli said while addressing a press conference.

He called MS Dhoni as one of the most intelligent cricketers on the field.

"He has always been smart with decision-making. He is the most intelligent cricketer around," Kohli said.

The first ODI match of the series between India and England will be played in Pune on Sunday.

Kohli has been named as the official captain of the Indian national team in all the three formats of the game after MS Dhoni resigned from the position recently.

Under Kohli's leadership, India had defeated England 4-0 in Tests.
