France knock Uruguay out of FIFA World Cup, reach semi final

Nizhny Novgorod, July 6 (IBNS): France reached semi final of the FIFA World Cup 2018 by defeating Uruguay in the quarter-final match at the  Nizhny Novgorod Stadium here on Friday.

France won the match 2-0.

The two goals were scored by Raphael Varane and Antoine Griezmann at the 40th and 61st minutes of the match.

Uruguay now stands eliminated from the tournament.

France will play against the winner of the Brazil-Belgium match, which will kickoff at 11.30 IST on Friday.
