First ODI: South Africa set 297 as target for India; Rassie, Bavuma slam tons

Paarl/IBNS: Riding on twin centuries by Rassie van der Dussen and skipper Temba Bavuma, South Africa scored 296 losing four wickets in 50 overs in the first One Day International (ODI) against India here on Wednesday.

After the hosts lost three wickets for 68, Bavuma and Rassie stitched a 202-run partnership to take their team to safe land.

While Bavuma was dismissed scoring 110, Rassie went on to score 129 off just 96 balls with the help of nine fours and four sixes.

Jasprit Bumrah had the best bowling figure for India with two for 48 in 10 overs while ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin clinched one for 53 in his bowling quota.
