Don't be burdened by what the result will be: Modi tells Indian athletes

New Delhi, Aug 14 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged Indian athletes performing in the ongoing Rio Olympics not to feel burdened by thinking about the results and the outcome of the matches in which they will perform in the mega spots event of the year.

He said 'victory and setbacks' are part of human lives.

"India is phenomenally proud of all our athletes in Rio & their hardwork that got them there. Victory & setbacks are all a part of life," Modi tweeted.

"I urge all athletes who have their games remaining to give their best & play with determination, not get burdened by what the result will be," he said.

Modi said: "The endurance, determination & dedication of every Indian athlete who is in Rio makes us very proud. They are India's pride."

Indian athletes have not been able to win a single medal so far in the Olympics.
