Dhoni opts out of West India tour, Bumrah rested for limited overs tournament

Mumbai, July 21 (IBNS): The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors have rested Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah for the limited overs series against West Indies.

MS Dhoni, former Indian captain, has opted out of the tournament.

Virat Kohli has been named as skipper of India in all the three formats of the game.

India will play West Indies in three ODI, three T20 and two Tests during their visit to the Carribean islands.

Rishabh Pant has been added to the ODI and T20 squads as the solitary wicket-keeper.

Navdeep Saini found his place in the limited overs squad.

Kedar Jadhav, who sowed poor performance with the willow during the World Cup, was named in the ODI squad.

Meanwhile, Wriddhiman Saha returned to the Test squad for the first time since January 2018 after a lengthy battle with injuries.

He will only be the backup wicket-keeper in the Test squad where Pant has also been named.

Hardik Pandya has been rested for all the formats of the game.

Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal retained their positions in the Test squad.

M Vijay could not make it to the Test team.

Led by Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav will be taking charge of the pace department while R Ashwin , Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav will handle the spinning side.
