CWG: MC Mary Kom reaches final of 48kg with 5-0 verdict

Gold Coast, Apr 11 (IBNS): Indian boxer MC Mary Kom  defeated Anusha Dilruksh of Sri Lanka as she reached the final of the women's 48 kilogram event at the ongoing Commonwealth Games here on Wednesday.

Mary put up a strong display in the semi-final clash as she registered a unanimous 5:0 verdict against the Sri Lankan boxer.

The Sri Lanka fighter tried her best against the five-time world champion but eventually lost the clash to end her hopes of winning a gold medal.

Mary assured at least a silver medal by reaching the final.

Mar is competing in her maiden CWG.

She is also an Olympic bronze medalist.
