After getting divorced with his first wife Nikita Vanjara, Karthik got engaged to Pallikal in 2013. The two got married three years later.

Karthik made his international debut in 2004. After missing from the national team for a long time, Karthik is now one of the important players in the Indian squad.

He is presently busy with the national team in England to play the Cricket World Cup 2019.

Karthik also captains Kolkata Knight Riders, an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise.
