Brazil held 1-1 by Switzerland in WC clash

Rostov, June 18 (IBNS): Brazil failed to win their opening World Cup match as a spirited  Switzerland managed to earn a valuable draw here on Sunday.

Swiss players came down the park with a purpose and settled for a 1-1 draw in the match.

Brazil got an early lead in the match as  Philippe Coutinho scored the first goal for the former champions in the 20th minute of the game.

It was after the first half of the game that Swiss managed to score the equaliser.

Steven Zuber scored the goal in the 50th minute of the game to equalise the scorecard 1-1.

Serbia is topping Group E with three points.

They managed three points by beating Costa Rica earlier in the day.

Brazil, who has been pitched as one of the favourites to win the title, failed to win their opening game of a World Cup for the first time since 1978.
