Australian team bus attacked in Guwahati after second T20I match against India

Guwahati, Oct 11 (IBNS): Following India's defeat in the second T20I match on the ongoing series, the Australian team bus on Tuesday was attacked near the Barsapara stadium in Guwahati, as a stone which was thrown had broken a window pane.

Australian batsman Aaron Finch was the first to put up a tweet, informing about the incident.

Finch said in the tweet: "Pretty scary having a rock thrown through the team bus window on the way back to the hotel!!"

A police complaint has been lodged following the incident.

The second T20I match of the series was the first ever international game played in Guwahati.

An all-round performance with the contributions from Jason Behrendorff and Moises Henriques, powered Australia to beat India by eight wickets in the second T20I on the ongoing series on Tuesday.

Winning the toss, Australia chose to field first and bowled out India to only 118 in 20 overs.

None of the Indian batsmen could play a decent inning. Kedar Jadhav was the top scorer for India with 27 (27).

Jason Behrendorff was terrific with the ball and picked up four wickets for Australia, conceding just 21 runs in four overs.

All the top four Indian batsmen, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and Manish Pandey, were dismissed by Behrendorff.

Coming out to chase, Australia lost two early wickets in the form of Aaron Finch and David Warner but it was the partnership of 109 runs between Moises Henriques and Travis Head took the match completely away from the Indians.

While Henriques scored an unbeaten 62 (46), Head remained not out at 48 (34).

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah picked up one wicket each for India.

With the win, Australia now leveled the three-match series with India 1-1.
