Australian pacer Mitchell Starc turns to video to confirm injury for USD 1.53 mn IPL insurance payout

Sydney/UNI: Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has come up with a video footage of the second Test against South Africa in 2018 claiming he was injured and seeks an insurance payout of USD 1.53 million for losing IPL contract with Kolkata Knight Riders.

Starc had filed a lawsuit against his insurers in April last year. The insurers, however, had disputed the timing of the injury in second Test at Port Elizabeth.

According to report in Sydney Morning Herald Clyde and Co lawyers, representing the insurer, had disputed the timing of the injury in the second Test at Port Elizabeth, and a civil trial was listed for March 30. That was rescheduled for June 17 but has now been delayed until August 12 - against Starc's wishes - after mediation talks on May 25 and 26 broke down when Starc's manager Andrew Fraser provided footage from Fox Sports of Starc bowling during the second Test.

Starc was drafted for USD 1.8 million in the 2018 IPL auction.
