Mumbai, Oct 12 (IBNS): Indian cricket Ajinkya Rahane thanked his followers on Twitter on Thursday morning, after his following reached three million.

India's batting mainstay in the longer version of the game, Rahane is renowned for his sound technique and his ability to construct big innings in Test cricket.

"Thank you so much everyone for your love and support. #3Millionfamily," his tweet read.

Nicknamed Jinks, Rahane played a vital role in India's present dominance in the Test arena, that saw the team take the top spot a few months ago, under the leadership of Virat Kohli.

Off late, he has also showed good temperament in One Day cricket, stringing together a series of half centuries against Australia, prior to which he took home the Man of the Series trophy against West Indies, when Indian faced them for a five match ODI series in the former's own backyard.
