Kolkata, Dec 3 (IBNS): Eros International & MM Moviez, launched the trailer of their forthcoming Bengali detective thriller, Double Feluda, directed by Sandip Ray, on Friday.

The movie stars Sabyasachi Chakraborty, who once again dons the mantle of Feluda while Saheb Bhattacharya is his assistant, Topshe.

Since the advent of the first Feluda whodunit, Feludar Goyendagiri, the books have spawned many hit films and the character has attained a cult status among the young and the old alike.

Celebrating the legacy of this iconic character, the movie Double Feluda has been pitched as a double treat for cinema-goers because it will showcase two stories of the Feluda series, 'Samaddarer Chabi' and 'Golokdham Rahasya'.

Handwritten notes, illustrations and manuscripts penned by Satyajit Ray have been used in the trailer as a celebration of the legacy of Feluda.

Shirsha Ray is the DOP, Ananda Adhya has done the art direction, Subrata Roy is the editor and Anup Mukhopadhyay is in charge of sound.

“The Feluda franchise is very close to my heart. To pay tribute to my father’s iconic creation, on Feluda's 50th anniversary, I have selected these two stories which my father was extremely fond of. I am happy to collaborate with a leading studio like Eros International on this project. I hope the audience shower their love on Double Feluda as they always have," said director Sandip Ray.

Sunil Lulla, Managing Director, Eros International added, "Legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray’s Feluda is an iconic character, who has a tremendous following not only in Bengal but across the world. We are delighted to join hands with Sandip Ray who has successfully carried on the legacy of delivering multiple blockbusters from the Feluda franchise. With two stories packed together for the first time from the Feluda series, we hope Double Feluda will be a double treat for fans worldwide."

The Feluda theme plays a big part in the movie and it has been used as a tribute for the iconic character.

A long inscroll has also been specially done in the end credit to pay the tribute.

Sabyasachi Chakraborty teams up with Saheb Bhattacharya once again as Feluda and Topshe after the major box office success of Royal Bengal Rahasya.

Paran Bandhopadhyay will play the iconic role of Sidhu Jetha.

The movie also stars Saswata Chatterjee, Bratya Basu, Dhritiman Chatterjee, Gourab Chakraborty and Rajesh Sharma among others.
