Autobi
Bengali thriller 'Autobi' premieres in Kolkata, promising a mystery with no easy answers
Kolkata: The Bengali psychological thriller Autobi made its official debut last week at South City Mall in Kolkata, screening before an exclusive audience of cast, crew, and prominent members of the film fraternity.
Directed by Soumava Banerjee; his debut feature, the premiere offered the industry a first look at the film's tense, unresolved mystery.
The film's poster sets the tone for what is to come: a dark, forest-set visual world suggesting secrets, an investigation and a search for the truth, with the narrative structured so that some questions are left deliberately unanswered.

Actress Madhumitha Sarcar, who plays a central role in the film, said the project felt different from her previous work. "There's a lot going on inside of me, because this is a different kind of film."
"Moreover, the kind of character I'm playing, I want to see the reaction of the audience," she said, adding that she was anxious ahead of the film's reception but had her family's support.
Actor Aryann Bhowmik, part of the ensemble cast, spoke of the occasion's significance. "Today, my colleagues are invited here, and Soumava, who's so close to me, his first film is being released. I'm very happy for him. Even our producer has been working so hard day and night," Bhowmik said, urging audiences to watch and support the film.
