Kolkata/IBNS: Veteran actor and Dadasaheb Phalke Award recipient Soumitra Chattopadhyay, who has tested positive for Covid-19, was on Friday night shifted to intensive care of a city hospital after his health condition deteriorated.

Chattopadhyay was on Tuesday admitted to a private hospital after he had tested positive for Novel Coronavirus.

The 85-year old actor was shifted to intensive care as he was at an "acute confusional stage".

Chattopadhyay in July had returned to the shooting floor with actor-filmmaker Parambrata Chattopadhyay's Abhijaan after months of anti-Covid-19 lockdown.
