Kolkata, Dec 20 (IBNS): Kamaleshwar Mukherjee directed 'Mukhomukhi' challenged him to question himself, said the film's lead actor Jisshu Sengupta at an event to announce the release date of the movie.

Besides Jisshu Sengupta, Payel Sarkar, Rajatava Dutta and Gargee Roychowdhury will also be seen in key roles.

“This film has an intellectual element to it. If we watch the film closely, we can understand ourselves better,” said Sengupta.

‘Mukhomukhi’ deals with the lives of an aspiring musician and his wife who struggle with their married life and battle certain issues.

“This film was very demanding for me because I took a lot of time to understand the script. ‘Mukhomukhi’ basically challenges you to question yourself,” said Sengupta.

Nearly every member of the cast had a different insight into the film.

Said Payel Sarkar, “The film was very challenging for me because the kind of storytelling we are used to seeing in mainstream films is not present here. For example, the set is a 360 degrees set similar to those in theaters.”

Saheb Bhattacharya said, “My character in the film believes in intellectualism and his thought process doesn’t match with his wife’s way of thinking. There is a certain dichotomy in my character because I am partially confused in the film.”

The film is set to hit the big screen on February 1, 2019.
