Feluda, Bomkesh now share frame in film promo

Kolkata, Aug 30 (IBNS) Cult Bengali private detective characters Feluda and Bomkesh now converse for the first time on screen, in a film promo, joining hunt for the elusive Mr Right who would show women respect.

In the YouTube video promo, aimed at sensitising men about gender abuse, Tollywood actor Abir Chatterjee enacts both Feluda and Bomkesh, deep in telephonic conversation in their drawing room backdrop.

"In the wake of increasing incidents of attacks of women we thought about roping in Abir, one of the most popular figures and the near-total make-up of the 70s (Feluda) and 60s (Bomkesh) era were made possible with his inputs," director of the Abir-starrer Jomer Raja Dilo bar, Abir Sengupta, says.

Finally, the two concur that Mr Right can't be found but be attempted within ourselves, the man who would not tease women, would not look at them with lust, judge on the equality plank and likewise.

"It is a promo with serious message where I as Bomkesh tell Feluda every male should turn into Mr Right from tomorrow," Abir says.

Abir had given all the inputs about his Feluda and Bomkesh Bakshi looks including the big sized spec worn by Bomkesh, Abir Sen says.

The short, posted on YouTube, was screened on the occasion of a discussion on womanhood in present day to create a public platform to encourage and promote the idea of gender equality and feminism.

The initiative was by the producer-director of Jomer Raja Dilo Bar, a surreal comedy.
