Kolkata/IBNS: "The story of Cheeni 2 shows how friendship helps one to survive," says actress Aparajita Adhya who is all set for the release of her upcoming film directed by Mainak Bhaumik.

'Cheeni 2', a sequel to Mainak's 2020 film 'Cheeni' but with a different storyline, highlights friendship beyond age brackets through the prism of the bonding between Mishti (played by Aparajita Adhya) and Cheeni (played by Madhumita Sarcar).

Speaking to the reporters at Soul- The Sky Lounge, Adhya says, "'Cheeni 2' is a story which tells us that every person, who goes through a crisis, can feel unburdened by sharing one's life experiences with someone else.

"It speaks of how a friendship can help one to survive. Friendship has no age bracket. If friendship is maintained properly, it can be beautiful irrespective of any age."

The trailer of the film has already given highlights of the onscreen chemistry between Adhya and Madhumita which was evident in 'Cheeni'.

"Our chemistry in 'Cheeni 2' is as beautiful as in 'Cheeni' because Madhumita has acted superbly in the sequel," Adhya said.

Apart from Adhya and Madhumita, the film features Lily Chakraborty, Anirban Chakraborty, Soumya Mukherjee, and Pinky Banerjee in diverse roles.

'Cheeni 2', which is produced by SVF, is slated for an August 11 release.
