RSS chief wants construction of Ram Temple

New Delhi, Nov 24 (IBNS) India's ruling BJP's ideological patron Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)'s chief Mohan Bhagwat thinks that the time is ripe for the government in New Delhi to fulfill its promise regarding the construction of the Ram Temple at Ram Janambhoomi in Uttar Pradesh, according to reports.

Reiterating the vision of the late Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) chief Ashok Singhal, who passed away a few days ago, Bhagwat said that the construction of the Ram Temple and propagation of the Vedas would be a fitting tribute to the late chief.

The BJP is currently enduring a lot of criticism from all corners for their failed attempts towards the construction of the Ram Temple.

Congress leader Rajiv Shukla was quoted by the India Today as saying, "The BJP is fooling the people in the name of Ram Mandir. One person says yes and then another says no. Whenever they come to power they do not do anything. They are fooling even Lord Ram."

The construction of the Ram Temple at Uttar Pradesh was one of the main agenda of the incumbent central government in their 2014 election campaign, but nothing significant has been done thus far.

Political pundits are expecting the BJP to take action as it is likely to play a major role in the upcoming 2017 UP elections.

Meanwhile the UP election will call for a greater interest in the country's political sphere as apart from Varanasi constituency that belongs to PM Narendra Modi, the BJP also managed a near perfect score in the last central election.
