Nitish Kumar thanks Modi for congratulatory message
New Delhi, Nov 8 (IBNS) Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is set to return for another term in the state after his Grand Alliance receiving a resounding victory, on Sunday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his message congratulating him.
"Just received a phone call from the Prime Minister congratulating me," tweeted Nitish Kumar, adding "thank you Modiji".
He also thanked Congress president Sonia Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, all of whom have wished him on the win.
"Thank you Sonia Ji for your congratulatory phone call," he tweeted.
Earlier, National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Ram Madhav accepting the party's defeat in Bihar at the hands of a Grand Alliance led by Nitish Kumar said they would analyse the results and take corrective steps.
Counting of votes in the Bihar Assembly polls progressed on Sunday with the Grand Alliance of JDU-RJD leading in 158 seats in the 243 member assembly. The BJP-led alliance, which was leading in the morning is currently bagging the second spot.
