NIA officer shot dead in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor
New Delhi, Apr 3 (IBNS): A National Investigation Agency (NIA ) officer was shot dead in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor on Saturday night when he was returning from a wedding, media reports said.
The victim, identified as NIA Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohd Tanzil , was accompanied by his wife when they were shot.
The firing came from close range by unidentified gunmen on motorcycle in PS Seohara near Sahaspur district, said reports.
The officer and his wife were immediately rushed to the hospital in Moradabad.
However, the NIA officer was declared brought dead by the hospital authorities.
His wife has been shifted to a hospital in Noida where her is stated to be critical.
According to reports, NIA and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) teams have reached the hospital where the body of the officer has been kept.
