Japan PM Shinzo Abe to attend Ganga Aarti in Varanasi

New Delhi, Dec 12 (IBNS): Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, who is now on a visit to India, will attend Ganga Aarti at Dasaswamedh Ghat of Varanasi, on Saturday along with PM Modi.
Abe will leave for Varanasi in the afternoon, attend the Aarti in the evening and come back to Delhi to leave for Japan. 
 
Gange Aarti is performed around 6.45 PM in the evening after the sunset for around 45 minutes at the Dashashwamedh ghat by young priests and attended by a large number of people. 
 
It is "Agni Pooja" (Worship to Fire) wherein a dedication is made to Lord Shiva, River Ganga (the Ganges), Surya (Sun), Agni (Fire), and the whole universe.
