Indian Navy to create more infrastructure in Andaman and Nicobar Islands

New Delhi, Dec 4 (IBNS) The Indian Navy is keen on improving their infrastructure in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Navy chief Admiral R K Dhowan said on the eve of Navy Day, according to reports.

"There is particular focus on the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as extended arms of the country," Dhowan said at the annual press conference, while terming the islands 'strategically located'.

On Friday messages poured in from politicos as the wished the Indian Navy on Navy Day.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "India is proud of a strong & valiant Navy, that has always risen to the occasion to protect our Nation. Navy Day greetings to Navy personnel."

Communication and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "I salute the bravery and patriotism of Indian Navy on the occasion of Navy Day."

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said, "#IndianNavy is a symbol of self belief, courage & professionalism. On #NavyDay, we salute its exceptional devotion."
