Kolkata, Apr 1 (IBNS) Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit the site of the under-construction flyover collapse in Kolkata on Saturday, reports said.

At least 23 people were killed as an under-construction flyover collapsed in Kolkata's Girish Park area on Thursday.

Rescue teams, including personnel from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and National Disaster Rapid Force (NDRF), have been operating since Thursday  to remove the huge mounds of debris and find bodies trapped under them.

The mishap occurred at around 12.30 pm. on Thursday, as a large chunk of the under constructed flyover suddenly collapsed.

A close circuit camera footage showed people, cars, buses, auto rickshaws and hawkers being crushed when the flyover came crashing down.

Locals rushed to help and rescue people who were trapped under the debris.
