California shooting: Pakistani wife had pledged allegiance to IS

San Bernardino, United States, Dec 3 (IBNS) One of the two accused in the California shooting case had apparently pledged allegiance to a leader of Islamic State militant group, media reports said on Friday.
Tashfeen Malik, 27, and her husband, Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, were killed in a shootout with police hours after the Wednesday massacre where they shot dead 14 people.

More than a dozen others were also injured when the two opened fire at a social services centre for the disabled in California's San Bernardino on Wednesday, reports said.

The attackers escaped then, but about four hours later police had gunned down the couple in a black SUV with assault rifles.

A third person who was spotted running away near the scene of the gun battle was detained.

Police initially cited no motive for the  massacre, which came just five days after a gunman opened fire at Planned Parenthood in Colorado, killing three.

According to reports, , the attackers invaded the Inland Regional Center and began shooting around 11 a.m on Wednesday. They opened fire in a conference area that the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health had rented out for a banquet.
