Kolkata/IBNS: The Calcutta High Court Thursday allowed Trinamool Congress (TMC) national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee to travel to Dubai for his eye treatment after he was barred by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), media reports said.

The high court has allowed Banerjee and his wife Rujira to travel to Dubai.

Banerjee has been questioned a number of times by the ED which is probing the financial irregularities angle of the alleged coal scam.

The Lok Sabha MP from West Bengal's Diamond Harbour constituency had appealed to the high court stating he had requested the ED to spare him from quizzing from Jun 3 to 10.

However, the ED officials had objected to Banerjee's appeal.
