Bihar believes that Modi govt is an elitist government: Pavan Varma
New Delhi, Nov 8 (IBNS) With a significant rise from the trends that floated in the morning, JD(U) leader Pavan Varma said it was the widespread anti-BJP belief in Bihar that gave them such a margin.
"There was a belief in Bihar that the Narendra Modi government is an elitist government that does not care about the poorest of the poor," Varma told NDTV channel.
About the recent trends he said, "It is a relief and also a vindication. The initial trends were disconcerting."
When asked about Nitish Kumar, he said, "Nitish Kumar is completely relaxed. Nitish told me that elections come and go and that he will carry on with his job."
According to Varma, the result was a reflection of good governance, economic development and social justice that prevailed in Bihar.
As the counting of the votes progressed , the Nitish Kumar-Lalu Prasad Yadav alliance is leading in as many as 136 seats of the 243-member house.
The NDA, led by Narendra Modi's BJP, has bagged 97 seats so far.
Others are leading in eight seats.
