Kolkata/IBNS: Bengali actress-MP Mimi Chakraborty's latest song, titled Bhallagchena, was released by the Tollywood star on Sunday, days after keeping her fans and followers guessing what it was all about.

The 2:32-minute long song, which is now streaming on Mimi's YouTube channel Mimi Chakraborty Creations, shows the actress is in no mood to forcefully conform to the notions of the society.

From getting questioned over her marriage to social media judgements to preaching, the actress is neither interested in any of these nor bothered.

While the song, which ends with a message of emancipation, is conceptualised by Mimi herself and directed by Tuhin, the tune and music have been composed by Taposh.

The final scene of the song shows Mimi walking out in a bridal attire leaving her guitar behind.

Mimi, a hugely popular star in Bengal, made her singing debut with a single in her 2019 film Mon Jaane Na, where she starred alongside Yash Daasguptaa.

She had sung the reprise version of Keno Je Toke song from the film, which was directed by Shagufta Rafique.

Mimi then went on to produce her own music videos, beginning with Anjana in 2019. Some of her other music videos are Pal, Pari Hun Main et al.

On her acting front, Mimi made her OTT debut earlier this month with Chandrasish Ray's Hoichoi web series Jaha Bolibo Shotto Bolibo, where she plays a lawyer alongside Tota Roy Chowdhury.

In 2023, she delivered the superhit Bengali film Raktabeej and went on to make her Bollywood debut with Shastry Virudh Shastry, a Hindi remake of her Bengali film Posto.
