The Israel Defense Forces on Sunday announced that two senior members of the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement have been eliminated.

IDF claimed one of them was involved in the deadly October 7, 2023 attacks on Israel.

IDF said As'ad Abu Sharaiya, head of the Mujahideen Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement, was killed during an operation.

The other eliminated terrorist was identified as Mahmoud Muhammad Hamid Kuhail.

IDF wrote on X: "As'ad Abu Sharaiya, head of the Mujahideen terrorist organization in Gaza, and an additional Mujahideen terrorist Mahmoud Muhammad Hamid Kuhail, were eliminated earlier today in a joint IDF & ISA operation."

"The terrorists infiltrated Kibbutz Nir Oz on Oct. 7, 2023. Abu Sharaiya was one of the leaders of the massacre and was directly involved in the abduction & murder of Shiri, Ariel and Kfir Bibas, Nattapong Pinta and an additional foreign national who is still held captive by the terrorist organization and in the abduction of the couple Gad and Judi Haggai," the organisation said.

IDF claimed As'ad Abu Sharaiya was responsible for recruiting terrorist operatives in Judea and Samaria and in Israel.

"The IDF and ISA will continue to operate to locate & eliminate all terrorists who took part in the October 7 Massacre and were involved in holding Israeli hostages captive in Gaza," IDF said.

Underground Tunnel Found Beneath European Hospital

Meanwhile, IDF claimed an underground tunnel route was found beneath the European Hospital in Khan Yunis.

"In a special, targeted operation, IDF soldiers located an underground tunnel route containing numerous findings such as command and control rooms, weapons, and additional intelligence materials," IDF said.

Targeting Hamas, the group said: "Hamas continues to exploit hospitals in Gaza for terrorist purposes, cynically exploiting and endangering civilians."
