A Turkish social media influencer, who had gained attention after marrying herself, has died after falling from the fifth floor of a luxury apartment building in Istanbul city.

Kubra Aykut was 26.

The incident, which occurred late on Sept. 23, has sparked debates over whether it was an accident or a possible suicide, reported  Turkiye Today.

Authorities are currently investigating the case and the circumstances that led to her death.

According to Turkish local media reports, her last post on social media was concerning.

“I’ve gathered my energy, but I can’t seem to gain weight. Today I saw that I dropped to 44 kilograms. I lose a kilogram every day. I don’t know what to do; I urgently need to gain weight,” she was quoted as saying in the post by Turkiye Today.

Her body was shifted to a private hospital's morgue following her death.

She gained recognition in 2023 after she posted her unconventional and empowering "Wedding without a Groom" series on Tiktok.
