Model's nude photoshoot at Western Wall sparks outrage

Jerusalem, Jun 29 (IBNS): Belgian model Marisa Papen has come under serious criticism after a photo showed her posing nude in front of the Western Wall, a revered Jewish site in Jerusalem.

The model, who is no stranger to controversy, however, shot back saying she's perplexed with the amount of hate she's receiving.

"I am perplexed with the fact that people who believe a God created our bodies (yes, including boobs and our private parts) could think skin is offensive?

So explain me, God created us and then decided that our bodies are offensive or ‘bad’…? Please push your mind to think outside the box, or should I say, the book...To all the people assuming we cropped out the Dome, we did not. So here is a picture with the dome but without the Western Wall. Peace and love!," she posted on her Facebook wall.

Speaking out against the photoshoot, the Rabbi of the Western Wall, Shmuel Rabinovich, told Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper that the incident was embarrassing and lamentable.

"This is an embarrassing incident, grave and lamentable, which offends the sanctity of the site and the feelings of those who visit the holy places," he said.

The Western Wall is considered the most sacred place where people adhering to the Jewish faith can pray.

Papen had gotten into a similar controversy last year, after she posed nude in front of a pyramid in Egypt.
