Jakarta stock exchange walkway collapses, several injured

Jakarta, Jan 15 (IBNS):Several people were injured when a  floor collapsed during the midday trading break at the Jakarta stock exchange building (IDX) here on Monday, media reports said.

"The floor collapsed into the ground level of the bourse’s Tower 2, spokesman Rheza Andhika said by phone, adding that it wasn’t an explosion," The Jakarta Post reported.

A CCTV footage of the mishap which has been making a round on social media platforms showed several people gathered on the mezzanine while it came down crashing into the lobby.

The building was evacuated following the mishap.

The exact figure of injured people is still not known.

The area has been cordoned off by the police.

Some injured people were rushed to hospital for treatment.
