Nineveh governor Najm Al-Jubouri told the Iraqi state news agency INA as quoted by CNN that the injured were transferred to hospitals in Nineveh and the Kurdistan region.

Al-Jubouri said the final number of deceased in the fire incident is still not clear.

The cause of the blaze is also not clear.

Several videos of the incident, which have gone viral on social media, showed a thick smoke billowing out of the Al Haytham Wedding Hall.
