Columbia nurse falls from sixth floor, survives

Cali, June 16 (IBNS): A student nurse, who had fallen from the sixth floor of a hospital, survived after receiving injuries, media reports.

However, doctor Isabel Munoz, on whom she had landed up, died.

The reason for the fall is yet to be known.

A police investigation has been launched.

The nurse, Maria Isabel Gonzalez, has received several fractures but presently in a stable condition.

Hospital director Carlos Corrales said that he do not have any knowledge of what had happened.

Corrales was quoted saying madia, "The doctor suffered traumatic brain injury and passed away, despite all the efforts to save her."

Munoz was going on her way to cafeteria, when the incident occurred.

The doctor was studying at University hospital de Valle.
