Sydney, Sept 19 (IBNS): At least 24 people were treated by paramedics after a chemical leak incident occurred at a hotel in Australia's Sydney city on Wednesday, media reports said.

Emergency services were called to the Pullman Hotel near Hyde Park just after 9am to reports mixed chemicals had gone into the ventilation system, an ambulance spokesman was quoted as saying by The Sydney Morning Herald.

Six patients were reportedly taken to St Vincent's Hospital for treatment.

An NSW Ambulance paramedic told the media that those patients who were taken to hospital for treatment were stable.

The Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman told the newspaper four fire crews remained on scene doing atmospheric testing and ventilating the area to make sure the area was safe for everyone to go back inside.

The firefighters finished ventilating the hotel later.
