Tokyo, July 9 (IBNS): At least 94 people have died in flood affected Japan, reports said on Monday.

According to officials, the death toll is expected to exceed 100.

The country was inundated following high levels of torrential rain. The same has also triggered landslides, forcing an awaited evacuation of at least 2 million people.

Officials have said that tens of thousands of rescue workers are presently battling mud, rubble and the flood, while continuing their duty.

So far, 58 people are reportedly missing in south-west Japan, which has been severely affected during the calamity.

Meanwhile, the flood has also affected manufacturing plants, as companies like Mazda and Daihatsu have said that they were forced to suspend work due to the lack of availability of parts.
