Mumbai: From irregular timings to the safety of their employees, the TV industry has a lot to think about when it comes to the way things work here, says actress Maninee De.

“The way it functions, the timings, most importantly, the conditions that most people work in, it's terrible now. I mean, there are studios which are fantastic and then there are some, where the conditions are unhygienic, not really great for anybody,” says Maninee, who is known for her role as Pari Kapadia from Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin and Gurumaa from Naamkaran. She will be seen in the upcoming film Ghudchadi as well as the YouTube series Ssup Ma.

She says that employees need to be given some sort of conveyance to go back home after late shoots. “There should be a provision made to drop female workers back home, especially if they are in the hair department or the dress department since it gets late. They're just left to fend for themselves. In fact, some kind of transportation should be made available for men as well who stay far away. Also, the food quality has to improve. I mean, this is what most people work for. So, the quality of food has to definitely come up,” she says.
