‘It was really cute’: Alexandra Breckenridge on her favourite Virgin River S7 dance with Martin Henderson
Los Angeles/IBNS: The seventh season of the popular Netflix series Virgin River premiered on March 12, with lead actor Alexandra Breckenridge sharing glimpses of behind-the-scenes moments and her experiences filming the latest installment, which she jokingly described as “all about babies.”
Alexandra revealed her favourite moment on set was a dance sequence with co-star Martin Henderson. “He was like, ‘I’m supposed to dance to I Feel Like a Woman?’ He had a little bit of a hard time with it. But at the end of the day, it was really cute,” she said.
Filming in scorching heat in Mexico posed its own challenges. “It was so hot. They call it sarcasm — the seaweed on the beach — and it smells really bad. And in the middle of that, we were doing all of those happy, romantic scenes,” the 43-year-old actress added.
The new season explores evolving relationships among characters, including Brady and Brie, Doc and Hope, while Lizzie embraces motherhood.
Produced by Reel World Management, the series is based on the bestselling novels by Robyn Carr.
Recap of the show
The story follows Mel Monroe, a nurse practitioner and midwife who leaves city life to work in the remote Northern California town of Virgin River, hoping to heal from the grief of her husband’s untimely death.
She eventually falls in love with Jack Sheridan, a former U.S. Marine and local pub owner struggling with PTSD. Despite expecting a quiet life, Mel discovers that Virgin River is anything but.
Mel and Jack tied the knot in Season 6, and the latest season is now streaming on Netflix.
