Mumbai: Filmmaker Nitin Kumar Gupta won the best Writer-Director award in Dubai for his film Love In Ukraine, and now he is ready with the video launch of the first ever Ukrainian-Indian song.

The song 'Pyar Se', or Zlyubovyu in Ukrainian,, was recorded during the war and attempts to promote peace with its powerful lyrics - "If life is a war, we will win the world with love.' It has been composed by the multi-faceted director, and features montages of Ukraine from his award-winning film.

The song is all the more poignant, because the Ukrainian singer Ekaterina recorded the song in a studio in Kiev, while the city was still reeling under the attack by Russian forces. Symbolically, the video shows the studio catching fire even as Ekaterina sings.

Commenting on the best Writer-Director award in Dubai, the Sayonee and Love In Ukraine director says, "An award of this stature is always a tremendous honour, but it feels all the more special because of the circumstances Ukraine is going through. The film is a romance that crosses borders, and it is an attempt to encourage people to spread love, not war. I wish the people of Ukraine would come through this calamity very soon because they are one of the most loving people I have met."

Asked about what inspired the song, the composer-director says,"I wanted a message of the power of love through the song. The song has been recorded by Ekaterina, a famous Ukrainian singer, while the country was being bombed. It was a bold and fearless effort by all the people involved in the recording, and the studio in Kiev was opened up secretly just to record the song. I am proud that I am the one to have the honour to create and present it."

'Pyar Se Ukrainian version' song was released on Zee Music on 21 July 2022. And the film 'Love In Ukraine' will be streaming on OTT very soon.
