WB: Fire in Maitree Express, passengers safe

Kolkata, July 26 (IBNS): A minor fire broke out at the pantry car of 13110 Dhaka-Kolkata Maitree Express near Naihati Station in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on Sunday.

According to the Eastern Railways, after crossing Naihati Station, locals noticed flames and smoke at the pantry car of the train.

The driver stopped the train at Kankinara Station.

One fire tender engine came to the spot and brought the flames under control.

No casualty has been reported so far.

The train reached Kolkata after 20 minutes of its scheduled arrival time.
