Vijai Sharma appointed as Chief Information Commissioner

New Delhi, June 8 (IBNS): The Indian government on Modnay appointed Vijai Sharma as the Chief Information Commissioner.

"Shri Vijai Sharma (Indian Administrative Service:1974), Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission, New Delhi, has been appointed as the Chief Information Commissioner," read a government statement.

"Shri Sudhir Bhargava (Indian Administrative Service:1979), retired Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, has been appointed as the Information Commissioner in the Central Information Commission, New Delhi," it said.

The above appointments have been made for a term of five years from the date(s) on which they enter upon their office(s) or till they attain the age of sixty five years, whichever is earlier, read the statement.
