US envoy Ken Juster congratulates Harsh Shringla on assuming charge as new Foreign Secy

New Delhi/UNI:  US envoy to India Ken Juster on Wednesday congratulated India's new Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla and said both the countries will work together to give further boost to the US-India global strategic partnership.

"....We look forward to working with you to advance the US India global strategic partnership. And congratulations to Vijay Gokhale on completing his tenure as Foreign Secretary," Mr Juster tweeted.

Mr Shringla took over as new Foreign Secretary on Wednesday succeeding Mr Gokhale, who retired on Tuesday.

In another missive, the US envoy welcomed Marie Royce, US Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs, for her India visit.

"Great to welcome Marie Royce to India, where she will meet with Exchange Alumni, visit Cultural Heritage sites, and help commemorate the Fulbright INDIA at70 celebration," the ambassador tweeted.

In another missive, Mr Juster welcomed US Coast Guard Pacific Area Commander, Vice Admiral Linda Fagan, to the US Embassy in New Delhi.

"Looking forward to expanding engagement between our Coast Guards and strengthening the US India Defense partnership," he wrote.
