Solar Impulse 2 takes off from Varanasi

Varanasi, Mar 19 (IBNS) The solar powered Solar Impulse 2 aircraft took off from Varanasi on Thursday.

The flight stopped for a night in the north Indian city.

"Successful takeoff for @bertrandpiccard in #Varanasi! #Si2 is on its way to #Mandalay #Myanmar! #RTW," Solar impulse earlier tweeted.

The aircraft will next reach  Mandalay in Myanmar.

It had reached Varanasi from another Indian city Ahmedabad on Wednesday night.
